The Demetres Red Velvet Cheesecake is one of the most-loved cakes on our menu, and one of the most distinctive cheesecakes you'll find in the Greater Toronto Area. Each slice is hand-cut from a full cake built with layers of moist red velvet sponge, two layers of dense New York-style cheesecake baked into the middle, and a smooth cream cheese frosting finish. It's baked that morning at our in-house Woodbridge bakery using classic artisanal methods we've refined since 1989.

  • Most red velvet cakes you'll find in Toronto are exactly that, cake. Ours is built differently. We bake two full layers of New York-style cheesecake directly into the structure of the cake, so every forkful gives you the cocoa-tinted softness of red velvet, the tang of real cream cheese frosting, and the dense, creamy bite of proper cheesecake. It's a hybrid we've been making at our Woodbridge bakery for years, and a big part of why this slice has its own quiet fan club among regulars.
